سکون

Sakoon

Peace in the little things.

The Story

Every family we know has a version of this story: a grandparent who could describe a village they never got to take you to, a river whose name shows up in three different countries' folk songs, a skyline of domes and minarets that looks like home no matter which side of a border it's photographed from.

Sakoon is built around that memory. The embroidery across the chest is a single word — سکون, sakoon, the peace that settles after the noise — stitched in thread the color of old brass. Below it, a patched postcard of a shrine none of us can agree belongs to just one country, and a woven landscape of rivers, fields, and low mountains that could be Punjab, could be the Frontier, could be wherever your family is from.

Turn it around and there's a second scene on the back: a dhol drummer mid-step, the kind of figure who shows up at every wedding from Lahore to Amritsar to Dhaka, patched together with a floral swatch and a hand-drawn map fragment — because the celebration was never the property of one flag.

It's heavyweight, cut oversized, and made to be lived in — the first piece we're putting our name on, because it's the one that says the most without saying much at all.
